Sure this is for you, you know ... the headlines in the papers in October 2011, contained 2 conflicting stories - the first pronouncing Mervyn King's view that the UK recession is as bad as the 1930's and the second lauding the lasting legacy of Steve Jobs of Apple who tragically died, and has apparently left eight years worth of product launches "in the can" ...
So, one of these is a naysayer and the other a prophet and entrepreneur.
What is the difference between the two - one is a creative, a visionary, an innovator, a designer, an entrepreneur with a flair for the aesthetic and the other is a banker ! (Sounds like the punchline to a bad joke !) My question for you is - which one are you ?
Because if you're a naysayer - well - I imagine you spend your days worrying about how bad things are, and how much digital paper you need to buy to keep the economy going. Don't worry - you can be cured !
Steve Jobs, on the other hand, played a major role in creating the information economy, and tranformed the computer, telecommunications, and entertainment industries in the process, and Apple are having their best year ever.
Is it because Steve Jobs is American ? Is it because he's better educated ? Is it because he's better looking ? Maybe...
The "real" difference between the 2 is Jobs' ability to take creativity, harness it, add loads of value and make a difference in the world !
Now, I'm no Steve Jobs, in fact I haven't got even an O level in art, music, or marketing - but people do tell me that I am very intuitive, creative and dare I say it - entrepreneurial - and I'm playing my part in helping people market, get more clients from social media and the internet, make more money and take their business to the next level !
and I think that you, deserve this too ! (Maybe you just need to be better at marketing).
